About

I’m a native Texan who moved to Colorado on July 4, 2007. Still, people ask me all the time, “Are you from Texas or the South somewhere?” because I apparently still have a Texas accent despite my efforts to tone it down.

I love God, people, and life! I am completely enchanted by beautiful words, colors, designs and nature. I’ve wanted to concentrate on writing for a long time, but when you’re raising a family and working, there isn’t much time to concentrate on anything for very long. I also love to crochet and knit, so I usually have a yarn stash of every color and texture. As we continue to downsize our living space and possessions, I’ve given away much of my stash.

My husband and I have been married for over twenty years. I have two wonderful grown sons, a delightful daughter-in-law, and a grandson with whom I am completely besotted!

I love to write poetry, little stories and essays about all the things I love, but with a view to encouraging and inspiring other people. We all need a pick-me-up sometimes and I hope I can be a pick-me-up to someone else every day in some way. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something here to brighten your day and encourage you on your path!

Peace and love,

Doris Lane

    1. Wow! Thank you so much for this Nicky! I’m stunned, quite frankly, but your timing could not have been better. Today has been a tough one physically and somewhat emotionally and I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to post anything today. Then I received the notification about your nomination and laughed and cried at the same time! God bless you and I hope you have a good weekend!

      1. You are very welcome. I enjoy your blog and wanted others to find you to. I am glad you are pleased and happy it came at the right time for you. Quite the same situation when I saw the nomination for mine. Thanks for a great blog.
